Top Three Reasons Why The 30 Day Whole Body Detox is a Success

Top Three Reasons Why The 30 Day Whole Body Detox is a Success

3 Reason for SuccessOver the last 5 weeks, we have had hundreds of people start (and most of them complete) the 30 Day Whole Body Detox program. This is the 5th edition of the program and I have been thinking about what makes this program different and why we have had so many success stories year after year. There are thousands of programs out there, why is this one different?

Gratitude Tip: Taking care of our bodies for 30 days is a beautiful way to show gratitude for our cells and all of the automated processes that are happening every single moment that we are alive. We often take so much for granted when it comes to digestion and detoxification, that a program like the 30 Day Whole Body Detox allows us to focus on healthy digestion and detox for a very short period of time, and usually leads to a change in habits which will then continue to serve us for a lifetime.

Here are the Top 3 Reasons why the 30 Day Whole Body Detox is a success:

First, it’s SIMPLE. Being a whole food program, with simple recipes and common ingredients (for the most part), it can fit into even the most hectic lifestyles. This program can be done if you’re eating outside of the house as well and even on special occasions, as long as you stick with the program guidelines. And after a few weeks, it becomes ever easier as you’ve adapted the way you cook and eat. Most clients don’t want to go ‘off’ the program after 30 days because they love this new way of eating.

Second, there is SUPPORT. One of the biggest things that most programs are lacking is proper support. When you purchase a ‘cleanse’ kit from the health food store, there is no one supporting you. If you buy a detox book and do the program yourself, there is no support. We see a lot of success in the detox program because of the support from our program coaches and the online support through our Facebook group. It’s a real community of real people who are sharing their struggles and their successes with each other, as well as recipe ideas.

Third, the SUPPLEMENTS. If you take away the USANA supplements that go with the program, it’s basically a ‘clean’ eating program. I purposely chose not to use the term ‘clean eating’ for this program as it implies that there are ‘dirty’ foods. The program teaches you how to nourish your body with healthy, whole foods and to avoid foods that don’t serve you or make you feel very good. The reason why the supplements are so important is that our cells need a lot of anti-oxidant, vitamin and mineral support beyond what is available from our food – even organic food. By removing the liver loaders (alcohol, caffeine and refined sugar) we are supporting our liver in the best possible way by adding in the Hepa Plus for example, which contains the anti-oxidants, minerals and vitamins our liver desperately needs but isn’t getting from food alone.

Simple, Support and Supplements – Three reasons why this program is a success for most of our clients. The last large group detox will be starting on Tuesday May 24th, right after the long weekend in Canada. If you’d like to join us, you can ORDER NOW.

We are also very excited to have a new program contributor! You may have noticed a few weeks ago that we did a juicing meet-up at Bodhi Bar in downtown Burlington. I am pleased to announce that Naiomi Gardner, owner of the Bodhi Bar has contributed a recipe to our program, which will be included in this year’s PDF version. We are also working on some fun ideas for next year’s spring detox program, for those who might like the extra challenge of a 3 day juice cleanse before starting the 30 Day Whole Body Detox program.

Julie Boyer, post 30 Day Whole Body Detox

Julie Boyer, post 30 Day Whole Body Detox

We’ve reached the final day of our 30 Day Whole Body Detox for the group that started on April 7th. It’s hard to believe that 30 days has already gone by. I actually feel like this is my new way of living. I haven’t had a single piece of dark chocolate in 30 days and I’m absolutely okay with it. For me this program is usually about breaking a sugar addiction that I have built up over the winter. What I’ve realized is that the weight loss that goes with the program is actually because I tend to gain weight every single winter. So the scale does actually show that I have lost 7 pounds but those seven pounds were gained during the winter.

I have made it a goal so that next year when I do the 5th edition of the 30 Day Whole Body Detox that I have zero weight to lose and I stay exactly where I am for the entire year. I also want to make a commitment that I will no longer be a slave to sugar. It feels so incredible to be free from the sugar addiction and I feel completely in control of what goes into my mouth. I no longer crave any food after dinner and I don’t wake up feeling hungry. To me this is incredibly powerful.

My family!

As for alcohol, will I be continuing to drink? I believe that I will introduce some alcohol back into my diet but very very slowly because last weekend when I had a small glass of bubbly to celebrate my husband’s new job I didn’t feel very well after drinking only half of it. No matter where you are on your 30 Day Whole Body Detox journey right now I want you to know that I am proud of you. It takes a lot of commitment to do anything for 30 days and I know that sometimes it can be difficult to explain what you’re doing to the people in your life. Hopefully some of those people have given you incredible support. But know that everyone in our 30 Day Whole Body Detox community is here for you.

If you haven’t started yet and you want to start you can join the group that is starting next week on May 11th. If that date doesn’t work for you, that’s okay! We have another group starting on the Tuesday following the long weekend and for many of you that might be the perfect time to start after your first long weekend at the cottage. The 30 Day Whole Body Detox program is a gift. It’s a gift for yourself and it’s a gift for your future self because by taking care of yourself today and being in your best health, you have a much better chance of staying healthier in the future.

Square Foot Garden

Square Foot Garden

It’s already Day 27 and wow, this month really flew by! I barely even noticed this past week go by!! We have been blessed with an early taste of summer here in Southern Ontario, the temperature was 25C today with bright sunshine all day long. We had a chance to build our Square Foot Garden for my daughter and I today.  Well my hubby built it and we planted our seeds together. She was super excited to do this and I truly hope that things actually grow.

Lack of planning meant no juice today and there will be no juice for breakfast but I think I will make a green juice snack for the afternoon cause I miss it. Another fun thing I really enjoy now is sparkling water with lemon. Not something I drank before but I do like carbonation so this is a great alternative to cider on a hot day. I was also out of this today!

New smoothie for today:

Blueberry & Cherry Blitz!

  • Frozen organic blueberries
  • Frozen dark sweet cherries
  • 1/2 frozen banana
  • handful frozen kale
  • water
  • 1 scoop Fibergy
  • 2 scoops Nutrimeal Free

Blend at high speed. Enjoy in a glass with added USANA Probiotics and a dash of REV3 powder for taste!

As I have said before I will be continuing with the program in May as I am feeling so amazing and don’t want to go back to lacking in energy and motivation, that’s for sure! I still haven’t had any chocolate at all in 27 days.

Day 26 – Somethings Are Worth Cheating For

Green Juice With Tony

Another incredible day for me and my team here in Ontario. We enjoyed another fantastic day of personal development and growth with my mentor, Tony Daum, of Excellence Performance Coaching. Our juicing gurus brought him a very green juice to start the day! As Tony has diabetes, there are no root vegetables or fruit in this green juice, he says it tastes like a freshly cut lawn. Good for him. I am not even remotely ready for that!!

Today was my first real detox cheat. I am so proud of my husband as he is starting a new job only a few minutes from home and he is finally rid of his commute! Talk about a change in quality of life. In the Boyer family tradition, we shared a bottle of bubbly, this time from France. It was lovely! I enjoyed it slowly after dinner. I am truly grateful for my amazing husband and wonderful daughter. And although our lives are pretty amazing now, just wait, cause things are about to get even better than we ever thought possible!!

30 Day Whole Body Detox – Day 25

Not sure what I was thinking going to Vegas and then 4 days after that trip attending a two day personal development seminar! Although the seminar leader, Tony Daum, was also in Vegas with me and he’s come all the way from Florida to coach us this weekend. So I will continue to be present and do my best to learn from my mentor while he is here in person.

In the four years that I have done this program I have never been as busy as I am this year! It is off the hook and it has been a challenge to plan – even grocery shopping sometimes doesn’t happen. Thankfully, I have been doing it for 4 years so I know how to stick to the plan without needed to cook a new recipe every night. Today was a two salad day for me. I had a salad from the hotel restaurant and I brought one from home for dinner. I drank lots of water and enjoyed a few other snacks during the day. And what’s funny is that I didn’t even finish my dinner salad – I was full! Strange things start to happen on this program, let me tell you. I’m excited to share all of my results with you next week. I will say this, my black dress pants were not staying up very well yesterday….

Looking forward to seeing you all on Tuesday May 5th for our live Spring Nutrition Seminar in Burlington Ontario. All of the details are here and you don’t want to miss our amazing line up of speakers, all of whom are program contributors.

Day 24 – No Excuses

It’ Day 24 of this year’s 30 Day Whole Body Detox. Tonight’s post is all about excuses.

green juice

I love my green juice!

Am I too busy to do the detox program? After the month that I have had I can guarantee you that you likely not. Being too busy to do this program is actually just another excuse. What I have found is when the desire is there and when you are ready to make a change, it’s easy to find the time. Over the past month, I have traveled to Las Vegas for 5 days, I am going to a two and a half day seminar tomorrow, and I have had one of the busiest Aprils in my entire USANA career. I never actually thought that I would be able to stick to the program as well as I have considering all of the things that have been on my plate, but I made it happened. Amazingly, I even found the time to start a new juicing habit. Do I make green juice every single day? No. But I do find the time to make it green juice 2 to 3 times per week.

stir fry for the 30 Day Whole Body Detox

Simply stir fry with quinoa

The reason it’s possible to be successful on this program even if you are really busy is because many of the recipes are easy to make. Also with our weekly prep download you can actually set yourself up for success on a Sunday evening so that your week is simple to organize and you don’t have to worry about making dinner when you come home because you are often just reheating rice and stir frying some vegetables.

In May we have another group of people starting the detox together. Primarily, our juicing gurus Dieter and Rebecca, authors of the International Bestselling book Juice Your Way To Health will be leading a group starting on May 5th. Not to worry if you’re not prepared to start right away, we have another group starting on May 11th. From what I hear there may even be a small group starting in June.

So what I asked you tonight is to look at your excuses and really determine whether the reason you’re not doing the detox program is a real reason or if it’s simply an excuse. What do you want your health to look like for the rest of 2015? Do you want to be the healthiest version of yourself? Are you ready to feel the best that you have ever felt? If the answer is yes then I am so excited to include you in our May detox program. You can order your program here. If you have questions or you are not sure if this program is best for you please connect with me and I will answer all of your questions.

Sunny Days and Day 22

Playing by the lake

Playing by the lake

It finally feels like spring here in Southern Ontario. I decided to keep my daughter home from school today so that we could play outside together. It’s one of the advantages of my business, as it’s truly a part of my lifestyle so I can make these kinds of last minute choices and I don’t have to ask anyone for time off. Plus we had a fun playdate/business intro with a friend and her son while we played outside so it was really a wonderful day. I am really enjoying the 30 Day Whole Body Detox and I am happy to say that I will be continuing on for the month of May with the clients who are starting on May 5th. I haven’t even touched any dark chocolate or made any of the desserts this month so I may celebrate the end of the first 30 days with my favorite dessert by Tanya Fraser, the Superfood bar.

Green juice!

Green juice!

After finally making a trip to the grocery store I was able to make a fresh juice for my daughter and I. She loved it! And asked for more! I will have to make bigger portions. We both had salad for lunch. Is it bizarre that I dreamed of the time when I would be eating salad with my daughter?

Buddha Bowl

Buddha Bowl

Dinner was a detox classic, the Buddha Bowl from Lettuce Love Café. I haven’t needed the recipe in over a year. So easy yet so delicious and filling. We even make a small bowl version for my daughter. We finished our meal with komucha, the Rise brand. Challenge for May? Making my own cause I have a feeling I can make a lot for $10 which is what a litre of Kombucha costs.

Are you ready to start with us next week? Local orders placed by Thursday at 4 pm will be picked up. You can start on Monday May 4th or Tuesday May 5th. All orders placed by midnight on Thursday will receive a FREE bag of Fibergy to go along with the program. Order NOW!

Juice Up Your Detox!

Juice ingredients

It’s Day 13 of this year’s 30 Day Whole Body Detox for me. One of the extra chapters we added this year was all about juicing and we also added several juice recipes. This is all very new for me, as before I had only done a juice using a blender. It is harder to get the juice out when you blend and it does take more work but the taste is comparable. So not to worry if you don’t have a juicer and want to try it as a part of your detox program. Our juicing gurus, Dieter Staudinger and Rebecca Reble have given all program clients a free download on how to make your juice using a blender. Have you read their book yet? Juice Your Way to Health is an amazing book to learn all about juicing, the benefits and common juicing mistakes. I think I should have read that chapter first!! Today’s juice, although it was beautiful, did not taste that good. Maybe it’s because I don’t really like beets in the first place. This photo shows the ingredients:

Beautiful beet juice

This second photo shows the beautiful colour. After speaking with my juicing gurus they recommended trying golden beets or candy cane beets next time. I am open to it! I also know why Kelly’s Bake Shoppe use beet juice to colour their red velvet cupcakes. I looked a bit like a vampire after drinking it.

Dinner was one of my own detox recipes, the Ginger Peanut Stir Fry. This time I did it over brown basmasti rice, and I think I actually prefer it over regular short grain brown rice. Hubby loved it and this one does make a lot of leftover, in fact I think we may end up with 5 meals from one recipes! My daughter actually tried the cold tofu cubes left in the pan, I told her it was made from edamame which she likes. She ate three!! So funny.

30 Day Whole Body Detox 2015 – Day 12

Today was truly a stunning day here in Ontario. Usually one would be partaking the first drinks on the patio of the season but since I am still sticking to the 30 Day Whole Body Detox, I had a green juice instead. I am starting to feel a bit more comfortable with the juicer and today a made a very tasty juice.

Tasty Juice!

Tasty Juice!

Tasty Juice!

  • 1 green apple
  • 1 orange, peeled
  • 1/2 lemon, peeled
  • small chunk of ginger
  • 2 celery stalks
  • 1/3 of a very big cucumber!

This is the first juice my daughter has enjoyed, in fact she finished it for me!

2015-04-17 18.10.29Lunch was leftovers from last night, which was one of my favorite Oh She Glows recipes from her cookbook, Broccoli and Quinoa Burritos. I really enjoy it on romaine lettuce leaves, with a bit of hummus, avocado and srircha sauce.

And with the beautiful weather we had dinner outside, bbq homemade burgers for the family and my usual Sol Cuisine. We baked some sweet potatoes and added edamame in shell on the side. A little bit much for dinner actually but it was so delicious! Thank goodness for Digestive Enzymes! They really help when you feel a bit too full.

I am cheering on our third group starting this week! Start dates on Tuesday and Wednesday. Ready to join us? You can enroll online here.

30 Day Whole Body Detox 2014 – Day 29

In love with green juice!

In love with green juice!

This year’s 30 Day Whole Body Detox  has had the most impact for me personally, and I’m the program founder! And the first year is when I found out I have a gluten intolerance, so I am very pleased to have had some serious life changing moments this time around.

Did I reach my goals this month? Not all of them. Due to my toe injury, I wasn’t able to exercise much at all. That will change in May. My sugar and chocolate addiction is gone. And my bedtime and evening routine has changed for the better.

Results from my 2014 Whole Body Detox:

  • After a massive sugar detox, feel amazing and back to my energetic and passionate self.
  • No caffeine (not even REV3) for 30 days. I function well without it, so I won’t be adding it back into my lifestyle.
  • No alcohol for 30 days, no cheating this year (I had 1 glass in years prior). My choices for alcohol will be different; I will stick to wine (organic varieties are of interest) and stay away from coolers. My hubby has decided to change his beer to a local micro-brewery, Nickel Brook, to avoid all of the additives found in the major label beers.
  • First time making a green juice (using a Vitamix). I loved it! I will continue to make these regularly.
  • Tried many new foods this month including collard greens, fennel, black kale and gluten-free oats. Found several new recipes from the 30 Day Whole Body Detox Recipe & Guidebook that will be staying in our weekly rotation. À
  • A total of 8 lbs gone. An unexpected side effect. I had gained about 5 lbs over the winter (ugh!) and easily lost it and more in 30 days.

Collard Tacos, yum!

Collard Tacos, yum!

And the beautiful part of this is that there are so many others who are having great success on the program too! I will be sharing their stories over the next week or so. Congratulations to all of you! If you’re still not sure about whether to get started or not, we have one more webinar for you on Thursday May 1st at 9 pm EST, featuring myself, Dr. Erica Mattia, Chiropractor and Linda Heredia, Registered Holistic Nutritionist. Please connect with us to get your exclusive link for the event!
