Surprisingly, I feel great already! This year I only suffered mini-detox crisis that lasted 24 hours. Hooray!! Often we do feel unwell for the first 3-4 days of this program, depending on what our habits where like before. If you are currently addicted to caffeine and sugar, it can be a tough first few days. Lots of water and self-care is super important, because it’s all worth it! And by day 14, you will be wondering why you’re not living like this all of the time.
A trip to Toronto today meant eating out in a food court for lunch. Yes, I could have packed something and ate in the car, but that didn’t really appeal to me. I decided on an Indian chick pea curry with curries veggies on top. It was delicious and filling, so it seemed like the right choice for me today. In hindsight, I could have passed on the rice as I am fairly certain it was probably high glycemic. The good news is that I didn’t feel like my blood sugar spiked and avoided any sweet cravings today. I also had a lunch bag filled with healthy snacks, to keep the hunger at bay. Strangely, I wasn’t even that hungry today, even though I was out and about almost all day!
What I have noticed is that one I made the DECISION to start the program, it’s easy to say no to chocolate (and Eggies, which thankfully are almost out of stores) and to say no thank-you when it comes to alcohol. I notice that’s the same for many of my clients, and they have zero desire to ‘cheat’. My question is, when will you make the DECISION to focus on your health for 30 days straight?
My evening begins with a cup of herbal tea, as we recommend in the program. My parents have this tradition, they always made tea after dinner for as long as I can remember. Although this is not something I do all of the time, it’s certainly a great way to end the day.
Tomorrow is the last day to order and be entered in our contest to win a FREE signed copy of Juice Your Way to Health (open to Canadian residents only). Winner will be announced on the blog on Saturday. You know how to reach me 🙂
