As I being to wrap up the 30 Day Whole Body Detox for this year, I am not entirely sure that I want it to end. Over the next few days, I will be sharing my personal results and sharing many of the success stories from this year. We’ve seen some truly life changing things happen this month!
Yesterday evening I drove into Toronto for dinner with new friends at Fresh on Crawford. Fresh is ‘Toronto’s original source for modern vegetarian food and made-to-order juice’. I was excited to try something different, as my go to restaurant is Lettuce Love Café in Burlington. I ordered the Beach Bowl, regular size ($14). Now I realize why they offer a small portion at $10, it was so much food! I ended up taking home enough for lunch today. The bowl included brown rice as the base, grilled tofu, sweet potatoes, zucchini, red peppers, sprouts, sun-dried tomatoes, with olive oil and herbs. I found it strange that they offered goat cheese with it as well, but I guess that fits in with being a vegetarian restaurant and not vegan. Also, the restaurant is not gluten-free, so there is potential for cross-contamination with gluten. Although this was not an issue for me or my dinner guests, it could be for someone who suffers from severe Celiac disease.
Dinner was yummy but not as yummy as Lettuce Love. I am starting to understand how spoiled we are with the amazing gluten-free, vegan food served up at LLC daily. I have been told their juices are amazing, so maybe my next trip to Fresh will include a juice. Have you eaten there before? What is your go-to dish?
