30 Day Whole Body Detox 2014 – Day 8

Most of you are aware that I work from home, and so have some advantages when it comes to preparing meals. On my work days though, I am working right up until I leave to pick up my daughter and we’re still often scrambling for dinner. During the program, as I am planning all of my meals ahead of time, we aren’t scrambling and we’ve been eating so many wonderful meals together. I love that my hubby and daughter are into the spirit of the detox, we’re all making better choices.

When I woke up this morning, I (gingerly) stepped on the scale, as it has been a full week of detox. Losing weight is not on my list of goals, but I thought it would be nice to lose a few pounds since I was a bit surprised at the number last week.  Turns out, I have lost 5 pounds in the first week!! I am totally shocked! I am not on a diet, nor am I restricting my food intake. I am simply following the plan, including the supplements, and it is working.

Today I was planning to be out for most of the day, so it took a bit of planning. Daughter and I shared a large smoothie for breakfast. I share my probiotics with her too. Usually when I am going to be out for the day, I plan a huge bag of food. Ever since I started the 30 Day Whole Body Detox, my appetite has shrunk. For morning snack, I had a Go Nuts n Berries bar with a green apple.  I attended the Morning Mingle ~ Networking & Learning at Pretty in Pink Spa in Oakville. It’s a wonderful monthly event that sells out every time so I’m not including a link for you!

My next challenge was a networking lunch in Port Credit. I decided to skip lunch at the restaurant, as I had been there before and their gluten-free, vegetarian options were limited to a salad. After my event, I did something I don’t love to do – I ate my amazing salad in my car (parked!!). I listened to the Wicked Life Telesummit while I was eating so it was a nice break from the day.

Dinner was simple, leftover quinoa with a Sol Cuisine vegan burger on the BBQ. I made the Lemon Avocado Broccoli from Tanya Fraser as our side dish. It was delicious of course! You could easily have it as a meal for 2 people, add a bit of quinoa for protein if you like.

Many of you have been commenting on Facebook about your first week and sharing your successes. Melissa has lost 2 pounds in 3 days. Jacqueline has given up her coffee, and no one has been hurt so far! I am excited to share more of your successes as the weeks go by.
