A great start to Day 2 of the 30 Day Whole Body Detox with my tasty morning lemonade, thanks to Linda’s video from yesterday. Sadly, this was short lived. Whether detox related or simply that I slept the wrong way, my early morning headache turned into a full blown migraine. Luckily for me, my 3 year old is fairly self-sufficient so it made things easier. I did not cheat on the program, although I chose easier and more ‘comfort’ type foods today as I felt fairly nauseous from the migraine.
For breakfast, I tried the Sunrise Smoothie, another recipe from The Green Smoothie Bar. It was delicious and my daughter loved it as well. We made some Cherry Chia Pudding for snack, but it didn’t really turn out as I think the liquid to cherry ratio was off. Instead we had some simple wraps for snack. I love the Live Organic Raw® Sundried Tomato wraps, they are fairly small so if you have just one, it makes a great snack. I also added Sprouts for Life, these are great sprout blends that add a crunch to a salad or a wrap.
Dinner was my hubby’s favorite, Nutrimeal™ Free pancakes. This is a recipe I create a few months ago that he perfected. He confessed tonight that he loves pancakes and is so happy that we’ve found a healthy, gluten-free alternative (that’s packed with protein too!).
I’m grateful for a quiet day at home and an early evening tonight. I started my bedtime routine again last night and I found that I slept much better!! No more iPad before bed – I should know better (I wrote about it in my book) – but I had gotten into this habit a few months ago. This program is a great reason to stop and replace it with a better habit, such a reading from an inspirational book.
Are you on Instagram? I’ve been making short videos of the photos of the foods I’m eating during the detox. Feel free to follow me.
